Results of Communism Worldwide
Today only the following countries are still Communist: China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, and Cuba.
Communism had a major effect on economies across the world and it has been disastrous. From the lack of "good" leaders, productivity rates drop. People start viewing themselves as objects or possessions of the state and stop being self-sufficient people plus the fact that slackers and hard workers are each awarded easily doesnt help the cause.
Communism also destroys liberty. If the state has complete control over everyone's possessions then they have no liberty. In a communist state, everyone and everything belongs to the state.
The human condition of the people is also affected. People are always going to be slaves to their rulers in a communist country. But when the country loses Communism and tries to change into a market based economy, the transition is very rough. For example this occured with the Soviet Union, they dropped communism and struggled to transition because a market based economy is based on respect for property rights which is the total opposite of Communism.
Violence is a common result of Communism. Whenever citizens would try to reject the bureaucracy, Communist regimes would retaliate with violence such as torture, aggressiveness, and terror. They were not afraid to use brutal force against their own citizens. The violence that occurs happens because the citizens have no rights to keep them safe. Unlike communist countries, the United States Declaration of Independence makes sure that it's people have rights.
